Get to know Camp Erdman’s leadership team.

Andrew "Mish" Hood

Andrew “Mish” Hood
A YMCA camping professional since 2001, Executive Director Mish provides operational stewardship and ensures Camp provides impactful experiences. Past roles have included executive and program leadership at YMCA Camp Silver Beach in Virginia and YMCA Camp Cullen in Texas. Committed to helping programs and people to grow, Mish loves to help kids increase resilience, grit, and determination on the Alpine Tower and ropes course. A native of Scotland, Mish is glad to have landed in Hawaii to help Camp celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Drew Markey

Drew Markey
Drew thrives on providing kids with a fun, safe space to learn and try new things.  Drew is Senior Program Director who plans and runs the Outdoor Education Program and Ropes Course while also overseeing Teen Programs,  the Retreats and Family department, and Summer Camp.  Working with schools across the island to plan educational field trips and overnight stays, Drew strives to help Oahu students learn about Hawaiian culture, Marine Bio, Native and Invasive Species, Team Building, and ultimately more about themselves.  A fan of running, surfing, triathlons, and hanging with pup Fred, Drew appreciates Camp’s location–sandwiched between the ocean and mountains. Drew is also certified as a lifeguard instructor.

Eric Tutje

Eric Tutje
As a Senior Program Director, Eric plans and runs the overnight summer programming as well as oversees the Regenerative Tourism and Short Term Rentals Departments at Camp.  The Regenerative Tourism Department partners with Roberts Hawaii and promotes restorative tourism–sharing cultural knowledge with guests. Eric is certified as both a pool and ocean lifeguard, previously worked as a Waterfront Coordinator at YMCA Camp Surf in California, and did not see the ocean until age 22. With a strong draw toward building community, Eric started with the Y in 2015, including roles at the Mililani-West Oahu Y and YMCA of the Rockies.

Isabel "Izzy" Regalado

Isabel “Izzy” Regalado
Starting as a Summer Camp Counselor in 2022, Izzy is now Office Manager–tasked with ensuring that payments, registrations, and social media run smoothly. An additional perk of the job is getting to hear lots of memories former campers share about their time at Camp Erdman.  Izzy’s dog, Jeep, often helps to greet visitors at the Front Office. The beach in front of Camp is a favorite spot for Izzy, who enjoys searching for shells, going crab hunting, watching monk seals, and watching the “wicked” sunsets.

Jared Duffy

Jared Duffy
Since coming to the Y in 2021 to help spread aloha, Jared has been committed to ensuring Camp guests receive quality and nutritious meals during their stay as Director of Food Service. Jared has spent years working in food service and at the Pacific Science Center, another camp. Even with this focused expertise, Jared is proud to hold degrees in mathematics and physics and be a “jack of all hobbies.” Camp's historic site that encompasses both land and sea allows Jared to step outside the kitchen to enjoy archery, hiking, swimming, sketching, painting, and boating.

Tom Watthanasook

Tom Watthanasook
Tom cares for the facilities, as well as the safety of guests and staff as Director of Facilities. Seeing and hearing the joy that Camp brings to kids is a highlight for Tom. As is the picnic table by the campfire–the  best place to take in all of Camp’s beauty. Tom previously worked as a facilities coordinator at Le Jardin Academy and a project manager for multi-million dollar build projects. Away from work, Tom enjoys music and an English Bulldog named Satchmo.

Tyler Manuel

Tyler Manuel
As Director of Family Programs and Retreats, Tyler plans programs for families and local organizations to fit their needs. Tyler loves having a job that provides opportunities to impact and appreciate the beautiful community of diverse people, plants, and animals that exists at Camp. Before joining the Y in 2018, Tyler built experience facilitating outdoor education and summer camp programs. Around Camp, you might find Tyler at Rotary Hall (a favorite spot), snacking on a raw potato, or having a chat in Spanish.
