Notification of Construction: Kailua Road Intersection Improvements

We have been notified of a construction improvement project on Kailua Road that will impact traffic into the YMCA area from October 7, 2024 to June 30, 2025.  Paul's Electrical Contracting LLC has been contracted for this project by the Hawaii State Department of Transportation, Highways Division. The scope of work will include the installation of new traffic signal systems at the intersections of Kailua Road and Uluoa Street, and Kailua Road and Ulumanu Drive, along with associated roadway improvements in the surrounding areas.

The physical work is scheduled to commence on October 7, 2024, with an expected completion date of June 30, 2025. The standard working hours will be from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Crews will begin work at the Uluoa Street end of Kailua Road, proceeding toward Ulumanu Drive.

We urge everyone to exercise caution when traveling through these areas to the Y and to allow ample travel time to reach the Y. Please comply with all posted warning signs, barriers, traffic control devices, and instructions from personnel on site. Honolulu Police Department officers will also be present to help ensure smooth traffic flow during construction.
