Safety measures

To promote a safe environment for all youth participants and our staff, please follow these safety rules:

  • Stay home when unwell: To promote a safe environment for all youth participants and our staff; please do not send your child to preschool if they have a fever or are not feeling well. We ask that they not return to the Y or program until they are fever-free for at least 24 hours and have no or improved symptoms.
  • Face masks: Although the State indoor mask mandate has been lifted, families are encouraged to monitor the CDC COVID-19 hospital admission levels, and, if medium to high, those who are at high risk of getting very sick are recommended to wear a mask when indoors in public. Use the CDC COVID-19 Hospital Admission Level tracker to check current levels.
  • COVID-19 exposure or positive test: If your child is exposed to someone with COVID-19, please have your child wear a mask for 10 days after exposure. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please follow CDC guidelines, which include staying home and isolating from others for at least 5 days and wearing a mask for at least 10 days. Day 1 is the first full day following the day your child tested positive or started symptoms.

Unwell program participants or campers

Any youth or teen feeling unwell and/or exhibiting symptoms will be isolated from the group, and parents/guardians will be contacted to pick up their child or teen.

If enrolled in our overnight camp program, we provide immediate onsite care through our health nurse and will contact and work with parents/guardians on the appropriate course of action pending the situation.
