Convenient care for kids during summer school
For students who have completed grades K-5 and are enrolled in a summer school program, these before- and after-school care options provide a safe and enriching environment in the hours before and after summer school.
Before summer school
The YMCA offers early-morning, affordable childcare at schools before summer school. Depending on the school, the program starts between 5:30-6:30am, Monday through Friday. The morning schedule includes supervised activities, breakfast, and being escorted to class. Program fees vary according to the individual school’s calendar.

After-School A+ Summer Program
The YMCA offers an affordable after-school summer program, at DOE after-school A+ sites where students enjoy a healthy snack, supervised homework time, and a wide variety of structured activities. Hours vary by location. Activities can include homework time, reading time, arts, crafts, sports, music, and dance activities.
Program availability at your child’s elementary school may depend on the after-school enrollment of at least 20 children and the ability to recruit necessary staff.
