Summer day and specialty camps is a place for kids to thrive. Going beyond typical summer day care, specially crafted activities promote exploration, friendship, leadership, and learning that result in increased confidence, well-being, and connection to the community.

2025 Day Camp Fees, Payment Plans, Financial Assistance, and Cancellation Policy

Financial aid is available for individuals earning less annually than $65,000 per household and families of four earning less than $110,000 per household. Use our calculator to determine your potential amount.

Interested in registering for a multi-week package? A $50 deposit holds your Day Camp spot with the full balance due two weeks before the start of your program.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration for Summer Day Camp or Camp Erdman programs, submit an online request or contact our Service Center at 808-678-4296.

Requests for a program cancellation on or before April 30, 2025, will receive a full refund, including your deposit. Starting May 1, 2025, there will be a $50 service fee per child and transaction applied to your family’s account as a credit which can be used for any YMCA programs and services. The remainder of the balance will be refunded. Refund requests will only be processed for program weeks that have not yet started.

Free USDA Provided Lunches: Day campers at our Kalihi, Leeward, Leeward, and Nu‘uanu YMCA Summer Day Camp sites, which have been designated as USDA lunch program sites, will receive free lunches. However, campers must fill out this USDA form and turn it in by the first day of camp.

Weekly Parent Surveys: Each week of Summer Day Camp is different—with new themes, activities, and field trips—so we ask families to complete a short survey at the end of each camp week. Your feedback helps us improve and adjust as the summer unfolds.

Summer Day Camp Newsletters: These will be available for each Day Camp site by Thursday before that camp week starts. The newsletters will also be distributed and posted at your camper's site.

Give your child more summer fun at our Extended Summer Day Camp at Nu‘uanu Y! Families can register for up to 3 extra weeks of day camp from August 4 - 18 for students who don't start their school year until then.

Weekly rate: $244 members and $305 non-members.

  • Ages: Kids who are in or completed grades K-5 (for teens in or completed grades 6-11, see Summer Programs for Teens)
    • Options that include overnight camp at Camp Erdman are for kids who are in or completed grades 1-5
  • Days and times: 7am to 5:30pm (8:30am to 4:30pm for Camp Erdman Day Camp), Monday through Friday
  • YMCA locations: Camp Erdman Y, Kaimuki-Waialae Y, Kalihi Y, Leeward Y, Mililani-West Oahu Y, Nu‘uanu Y, and Windward Y
    • What’s included: Playing outdoors, arts & crafts, weekly field trips, and learning about Hawaiiana, health, nutrition, mental health resilience, and more. Swim time in our heated pools is included at locations with pools (Kalihi Y campers will be transported twice a week to Nu’uanu Y for pool time).
    • Lunch: Day campers at our Kalihi, Leeward, Leeward, and Nu‘uanu YMCA Summer Day Camp sites, which have been designated as USDA lunch program sites, will receive free lunches. However, they must fill out this USDA form and turn it in by the first day of camp. Campers at Camp Erdman will also receive a free lunch. For all other Summer Day Camp sites, campers must bring their own daily lunch.
  • Community sites: Nu‘uanu Congregational Church, Pearl City Community Center, and Kamehameha Schools (KS students only)
    • What’s included: Time to play, plus fun and enriching experiences that cover Hawaiiana, fitness, nutrition, and academics.

Specialty and enrichment camps offer unique opportunities for kids to explore their interests and passions. These programs can be registered as standalone options or added to your child’s Summer Day Camp experience and we'll escort your child to and from their specialty camp, ensuring a seamless experience.

Mililani – 3D Printing Masterclass: Imagination to Creation

Create it. Craft it. Print it. Discover the innovative step-by-step journey to master the future of production

  • Ages: 9–13 years
  • Days and times: Fridays, 10am – 12pm

    • Hands-on experience with 3D printing concepts and processes

Mililani – Summer Basketball – Full Summer (K–5th Grade)

Improve your skills while having fun with others who share your love for the game. With a focus on both individual skill development and team play, our program will help you learn about the sport while building lasting friendships.

Mililani – Y Explorers Camp – Forestry Biology @ Moanalua Valley

Join us for an exciting outdoor adventure with scientists from the Division of Forestry and Wildlife! Hike through Moanalua Valley, explore native ecosystems, and discover the fascinating world of wildlife biology. This hands-on experience lets young explorers connect with nature, learn about conservation, and give back to a historic valley.

Mililani – Summer Y Explorers Esports (K–6th Grade)

Power up and join us for a fun-filled day of gaming and strategy! This one-day Esports program is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players. Learn game mechanics, teamwork, and sportsmanship while connecting with fellow gamers in a supportive environment.

Specialty Day Camp: Y Explorers Camp – Queens Hospital 

This visit offers a unique chance for kids to learn hands-on experiences with medical technology and learn from professionals in the healthcare field. It’s a fantastic way for them to explore potential career paths, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the medical industry.

Mililani – Summer Soccer Clinic (K–5th Grade)

Get ready for an action-packed summer of soccer! Soccer promotes teamwork, physical fitness, and essential skills like coordination, communication, and problem-solving. Whether they're a beginner or looking to improve their game, this clinic offers a fantastic opportunity for growth and excitement.

  • Ages: Kids who are in or completed grades K-5
  • Days and times: Tuesday and Thursdays, 9-10am for Grades K-2 and 10-11am for Grades 3-5

Specialty Camps at Waipahu United Church of Christ and Tenri Cultural Center

At YMCA Specialty Camps, each week brings a new adventure and the chance to learn a new skill! Campers will explore global cuisine, dive into S.T.E.A.M. challenges, get creative in media and performing arts, and stay active with sports and outdoor fun Every week offers engaging, skill-building experiences in a fun, supportive environment.

  • Ages: Completed Grades K-5
  • Days and times: 7am to 2pm, Monday through Friday
    • Extended day option available for Waipahu United Church of Christ. Children will be escorted to Leeward YMCA for additional programming through 5:30pm.

Each day, campers will “travel” to a different country, exploring its culinary traditions by making dishes like fried rice from China, sushi from Japan, or tacos from Mexico.

Week 3:  June 23-27 – Basic & ʻOno: Easy “Local” Cooking Fun!

Week 4:  June 30 - July 3 – Sports Camp (No Program on Friday, July 4)
Get ready to run, jump, and play at our action-packed Sports Camp! Campers will be introduced to a variety of sports and physical activities, from volleyball to soccer, in a fun, supportive environment.

Week 5:  July 7-11 – Media Camp
Media Camp is a week-long program introducing young learners to the world of media arts, such as photography, video and/or graphic design, through fun, interactive, and educational activities.

Week 6:  July 14-18 – Performing Arts
Step into a world of creativity, imagination, and self-expression! This program invites young performers to explore music, dance, and storytelling.

2025 Summer Day Camp Dates and Themes

All YMCA summer day camps include the Heroic Journey Superhero Mental Health Program, which teaches social-emotional learning and bullying prevention using popular superheroes and movie stories. Pool time for fun and learning safety skills will be included at Y locations with a heated pool, including Kalihi Y, whose participants will be transported twice a week to Nu’uanu Y for pool time.

This week, campers will explore art as a way to express themselves, share ideas, and connect with others. Using Cray-Pas, crayons, and paint, we’ll create with passion, joy, and curiosity—transforming the world through our artistic lens.

June 23-27 – Curious Creators Week

Let your imagination run wild with hands-on projects that challenge you to build, invent, and explore. Creativity is your only limit in this fun-filled week of discovery!

June 30 - July 3 – Space Explorers: Blast Off!

Get ready for a cosmic journey as you explore the wonders of space, learn about the planets, and create galactic art. Play space-themed games and take on challenges that are out of this world!

Step into the world of storytelling as you create your own epic tale, complete with heroes, villains, and twists. At the end of the week, present your story or play for Family Night!

Train like a Pokémon and level up your skills through challenges that help you grow and evolve. Just like your favorite Pokémon, you'll be stronger by the end of this fun-filled week!

July 21-25 – Game On: Ultimate Challenge Week

Compete in game show challenges, trivia battles, and team competitions for an action-packed week. It's all about fun and friendly competition—are you ready to win?

Session 9

July 28 - August 1 – Throwback Time: Decades Battle

Travel through ‘80s,’90s,2000s with the music, games, and fun activities from each era. Celebrate the past while creating new memories in this time-travel adventure!

Summer Food Service Program Sites

The YMCA of Honolulu is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the following sites:
